MOOG

(Defence) Management and control of the DVT programme

MOOG are a leading global supplier of servo valves and design authority of unique aerospace components, test systems and miniature actuation systems. They currently manufacture advanced systems for complex aerospace, defence, space, and industrial applications, where precise control of velocity, force, acceleration, and fluid flow are critical.

TXMC worked closely with MOOG and became embedded within the programme delivery and wider team, building strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. The primary objective was to alleviate MOOG’s workload, to strictly follow the required processes and security requirements, adding value and releasing MOOG capacity to focus on other priorities. TXMC pride themselves on business transformation, with lateral innovative thinking around continuous improvement, which also factored in the successful delivery of these works.

The Challenges

Defence is a complex industry and requires the necessary expertise to facilitate successful safety critical product development to produce credible products that can be used in this industry.

Significant challenges included: –
  • Maintaining compliance to ITAR regulations
  • Liaising with credible external test houses on behalf of Moog
  • Creation of detailed, compliant test reports to aerospace and military standards
  • pFMEA for various phases in component production lifecycle
